Mohamed Salah not fixated on Liverpool future as he enters last year of contract

Mohamed Salah has not given any thought to his future despite his Liverpool contract expiring at the end of the season.

The Egyptian forward has been linked with a move away from Anfield to the Saudi Pro League in recent years but insists his only attention is on the campaign ahead as the Reds begin life under new manager Arne Slot.

Salah told Sky Sports: "With time you get more wisdom. Before the season I was like, ‘Okay, I have one year left so let’s enjoy it, don’t think about the contract now, don’t think about anything.'"

"I don’t want to think about next year, I don’t want to think about the future, let’s enjoy the last year and we’ll see.

"Every week that’s the most important thing. Just take one day at a time and be grateful to be here and that’s it."

Salah has scored in both of Liverpool's Premier League win so far this term and has enjoyed getting used to the "different football" demanded by Slot in comparison to his predecessor Jurgen Klopp.

He said: "[It’s been a] big change, I’ve been with Jurgen for six, seven years. Now [we have] a new manager and different things and I enjoyed it before and I am enjoying it now.

"We play kind of different football now, the manager now wants to control the ball all the time. With Jurgen we sometimes just go and counter press and try to attack them all the time in their half, but he wants us to control the game, sometimes slow the game down.

"It’s part of the plan and that’s the biggest difference."
