Tom Brady is trying to inspire Birmingham City players

Tom Brady is aiming to inspire other sports stars at Birmingham City.

The NFL legend is a minority shareholder at the League One club and is hoping to use his own experiences at the forefront of his sport to assist those plying their trade for Blues.

Speaking to Sky Sports before Birmingham's match against Wrexham on Monday (16.09.24), Brady said: "In this part of my life I want to see other people reach their potential and I was so fortunate that so many mentors came into my life at the right time that allowed me to grow physically, mentally, emotionally and that mix of qualities that I was able to develop as a player, I want to pass those messages on.

"A lot of these guys are 21, 22 years old. They've got bright futures ahead, they want to impact their own families' lives, they want to impact the community that they play in. How can we help support them as these young athletes and their aspiring career? That's what I love being a part of."

Brady won seven Super Bowls during a glittering gridiron career and claims that he sees little difference between being successful in both American football and the English equivalent.

He said: "I don't think there's much difference in sport. At the end of the day we're trying to get the ball in the back of their net and they're trying to get it in the back of our net. It's the same thing in American football, the touchdown is not a goal but you defend, your offensive, your defensive, you put together a good strategy, you work your butt off to prepare.

"I don't care where you're playing for a Premier League club or a League One club, the feeling's the same for these guys."
