The 39-year-old golfer admitted he last trashed his own equipment while playing in the LIV tournament in Singapore because he was unhappy with his performance.

Asked when he last broke a club, he told Today’s Golfer magazine: “Singapore. Well, I think that was the last one.

“I’ve broken a lot.

“Most have been over my knee, but I had one quite a few years ago which splintered right over my leg so I had to get that picked out.

“But in Singapore I finished very poorly and I took the irons that I had left and broke them in the locker room.”

Jason – who has two children with wife Stephanie Mrofchak – was pleased to recently find his son watching him in action online, and the youngster was very impressed by his dad.

He said: “My son Googled our last name two months ago and a bunch of videos of me came up.

“He told me and was like, ‘Dad, you’re really good at golf.”

The sportsman is friends with Justin Timberlake, who is known for his love of golf, and he praised the pop star for his “pretty solid” game.

Asked what Justin’s golf is like, he said: “Better than you think. He doesn’t practice but he’s pretty solid.”
