The Liverpool boss previously enjoyed a stint as head coach at AZ Alkmaar and Bjorn Johnsen – who joined the Dutch side in 2018 – admitted he learned more from him than any of his other coaches over the years.
Bjorn told World Soccer magazine: “He was probably the person I learned the most from.
“He was the assistant manager in my first year at AZ but he took all the training.
“His sessions were the best I’ve ever had and definitely made me a better player. He helped me see the game in a broader way.”
And as well as his technical knowledge, Bjorn was impressed by Arne’s people skills.
He added: “He’s a very good coach and very good at managing people.
“He’s very human – he gave me a week off to go and get married during pre-season.
“Small things are important and he’s just so in tune with every little detail.
“If you are not on top of your game, he asks, ‘Are you OK? Did something happen at home?’ He sees everything.”
