The Real Madrid star has been left out of the past two Les Bleus squads but is adamant that playing for his country is the pinnacle of his career in football.
Mbappe told Canal+: "The French team has always been the highest rank in football, it's the national team. I've always said there's nothing more important. My love for the French team hasn't changed.
"You serve your country and that's it."
France coach Didier Deschamps said that the decision to leave Mbappe out of November's internationals was a "one-off" and the forward is supportive of the coach.
The Les Bleus captain said: "I can't talk about November because it was a decision from the coach and I'll get behind what he said.
"I fully respect his decision because he is the boss. I wanted to go but I can't say why."
Meanwhile, Mbappe thinks that it is inevitable that players are getting tired as the number of matches they are asked to play continues to rise.
He said: "In the NBA [National Basketball Association], they get four months off.
"We get two weeks. And in the second week, we're already back to running. It's not a vacation.
"I was tired [at Euro 2024]. I wanted to stay because you give everything for the French team but it was exhausting."
Mbappe has made a slow start at new club Real Madrid but insists that he will be a success with the Spanish giants.
He said: "I always dreamed of Real Madrid. I don't know when or how but I knew I was going to play here.
"It's not the best start to the season, but we're preparing for the trophies that will count. We've already won the European Super Cup. It's not up to what we expected, but at Real, we wait in the second half of the season. That's where you'll be judged."
