Sean Longstaff scared of giant Christmas decoration

Sean Longstaff has been left freaked out by one of his Christmas decorations.

The Newcastle United midfielder likes to have “traditional” lights and a tree in his home over the festive period and he was baffled when his partner brought home a “full human size” nutcracker to keep them company this year.

He told Match magazine: “I don’t like them going up before the first of December, but it’s just the traditional Christmas tree, lights.

“My missus has bought us, is it a nutcracker thing?

“He looks so scary sat in the house as he’s massive. He’s a cushion version and he’s basically sat on the settee, full human size.

“It’s like having a human sat in the house, it’s nuts.

“That’s new for this year.”

Sean’s brother, Matty Longstaff, plays for Toronto FC but will be returning to the UK for the festive season and his sibling can’t wait to catch up properly with him.

Discussing their family Christmas games, Sean said: “Any game in our family is usually quite funny!

“Matty normally makes or breaks the game, whether he’s cheating or making everyone laugh, so no matter what the game is, it’s always pretty funny.

“Matty will be home from Toronto while the MLS has its off-season, so it will be good to spend time with him and hear about playing against Messi. I still can’t believe he didn’t get his shirt!”
