The 52-year-old former world champion hasn’t boxed professionally for 16 years and while he insisted he isn’t planning on making a comeback, he teased he could follow in the footsteps of Mike Tyson and get in the ring with the social media star if the fee was right.
He told Boxing News magazine: “Would I get in the ring with Jake Paul? Let’s say for £10 million. That would keep me happy.
“As long as I don’t have to make weight for the fight, give me about four or five months’ training and I’ll be good.”
Joe – who won a string of titles across two weight classes – ended his career in November 2008 after facing Roy Jones Jr., retiring with an undefeated record of 46-0, with 32 knock outs.
And the Welshman believes he went out at the right time.
He said: “I’ve always said I wanted to be a fighter who retired from boxing, not boxing retiring me.
“There’s loads of people who ask, ‘Why didn’t you fight to 50 and become the first person to [retire at] 50-0?’
“I’ll be honest – yes, I had injuries, but I did everything I wanted to do at super-middleweight and fighting in Vegas and the Mecca of boxing, Madison Square Garden, was the perfect way for me to finish off.
“I have no regrets.”
