The 30-year-old heavyweight, whose record stands at 18-0 with 17 knock outs, is excited about what the coming year holds but knows he and his team need to make some “smart” decisions.
He told Boxing News magazine: “Now we are looking ahead to what’s to come in 2025.
“I will be sitting down with the team this week to go through the details of everything.
“But I’m in a fantastic position, so it will be a case of deciding which route we choose.
“I’ve got a lot of options now, but this is crunch time and this is where it comes to being smart.
“Also, what are the best kind of fights for me? I always want to be in big, entertaining fights and there’s no way out of that mix now.
“I’m in the top 10-15, however you want to look at it, so the name I’m in with will have a certain status.”
Fabio has his sights set on contending for a major title.
He said: “This is the most important year of my career, because I’m on that fringe level where I will be potentially fighting for a world title.
“There needs to be a level of strategy there.
“The next step has to be the right one, or we can ruin a lot of good work that we’ve already done.
“Right now, it’s less about the name and more about positioning myself in the best spot to set myself up for a world title.
“You’ve got the Dubois-Parker fight in February, so maybe it’s about positioning myself to fight the winner of that.
“Or depending on what Uysk does with his belts, if mandatories get called or they start to fragment, we will try and put ourselves in position to fight for one.
“It’s about strategic planning now, it’s not just about picking a name and having a go.”
