Joseph Parker wants to fight Anthony Joshua again.

The 33-year-old heavyweight lost his WBO title to AJ back in 2018 and while he’s currently focused on this weekend’s fight with late replacement Martin Bakole after IBF world champion Daniel Dubois pulled out due to illness, he is keen to “avenge” his past losses.

He told Boxing News magazine: “I would love to become unified champion of the world and then avenge the losses I’ve had.

“The only heavyweight to do that was Lennox Lewis – he avenged all his losses and then retired heavyweight champion of the world.

“That’s a career I want to follow, if I can. That means I would love to fight Joshua again."

Dubois' withdrawal will deny Parker a shot at becoming a two-time world champion but he thinks that the Brit has made the correct decision in pulling out of the fight if he is suffering from illness.

The New Zealand boxer told Sky Sports: "If he is ill, I hope he gets better soon and I'm looking forward to Saturday (22.02.25) and having a great show.

"He did a sensible thing. If you're sick, don't fight.

"There's no point going out there and fighting your heart out and you're not in the right physical shape. Go out there and fight when you're at peak, top shape, top condition, and put on your best performance. Put your best foot forward and the one that everyone will remember."
