Dmitry Bivol's life felt 'tasteless' after Artur Beterviev loss

Dmitry Bivol’s life was “tasteless” after he lost to Artur Beterviev.

The Russian boxer's loss in Riyadh last October marked the end of a near 10-year unbeaten streak and he admitted it took some time to start enjoying life again afterwards.

He told Boxing News magazine: “It was a tasteless life. It was empty – no emotions, not enjoying the food which you want to enjoy.

“I don’t remember exactly when food started tasting good again but generally you’re not enjoying life after the loss.

“But then you start finding some good stuff in this life again and enjoying the food, enjoying company, seeing people.

“But in the beginning, you don’t want to see too many people, you don’t want to talk too much.”

However, Dmitry is thankful he’s got a rematch with his rival.

He added: “But this was only for a short time when I didn’t like life.

“Then I just switched the negative emotions and started enjoying life.

“I have another chance, when not too many get another chance.

“It’s great that I have another chance. It’s great that I have another chance and people liked the fight and want to see it again.

“They want to see me in the ring again. It’s good.”

And the boxer is determined to triumph again on Saturday (22.02.25) night.

He said: “I want to get my belt back. You know, I had a goal to be undisputed, now I don’t have a goal to be undisputed; I want revenge.”
