The Real Madrid forward believes he plays at his best when he is “enjoying” his time on the pitch but insisted that doesn’t mean he isn’t a “serious” player.
He told Match magazine: “I believe football is at its best when you enjoy it – every match, every training session, every moment on the pitch!
“I play with a smile because I love what I do, but that doesn’t mean I’m not serious about winning.
“I’m motivated to keep improving and giving my all for my team and for the fans.”
While winning trophies is the sportsman’s “ultimate goal”, he is also focused on self improvement.
He said: “My goals and ambitions are always about taking my game to the next level.
“I want to score more goals, provide more assists and be a decisive player in every competition.
“Of course, winning trophies is the ultimate goal – La Liga, the Champions League and every competition that we’re part of.”
When he gets time off, the 24-year-old Brazilian decompresses by spending time with his loved ones.
He said: “After a day of training, I like to keep things simple and relaxed.
“Sending time with my family and friend sis key – it helps me recharge.
“I also love listening to music, watching movies and gaming.
“These moments are important to reset and stay focused.”
