The Lionesses defeated the world champions 1-0 in the Nations League at Wembley on Wednesday (27.02.25) and the defender was delighted with the battling quality of the victory as the team gained a measure of revenge for their defeat in the 2023 World Cup final to the same opponents.
Bright said: "We're on a new journey, and we've been working really hard to build those connections. I think after the last game we wanted to be even more connected.
"To be honest, we spoke about just being proper English tonight and having that fight and that desire to defend for each other, work hard for each other and be hard to beat.
"I think it's so important in football to be hard to beat first and foremost. And obviously getting the win, a clean sheet, I think you've seen the performance from everyone. It's outstanding."
Lionesses coach Sarina Wiegman claimed that the victory shows that her team is capable of competing with "the best" despite some underwhelming performances of late.
She told reporters: "I'm really happy with the win. It was an absolute team performance and we fought for every yard.
"A very intense game and we had some very good moments in the game. We also know we have to defend really well to keep the ball out of the net. We had a couple of opportunities but overall we're very happy with how the team stood up and how hard we worked to get the win over the line.
"Of course it gives us a boost. We showed again tonight that we can compete with the best. We have shown that before and it was really good to show that again, maybe for ourselves, the fans who were in the stadium."
