The 25-year-old fighter took the WBO Lightweight belt from Denys Berinchyk last month thanks to a fourth round knockout and he’s got to plans to rest on his laurels.
He told Boxing News magazine: “I’m trying to fight at least two more times this year, maybe even three.
“It’s not like my last few fights have gone long.”
Davis was delighted with his performance against Berinchyk.
He said: “I always get a little nervous when I put on my gloves, but I knew it was my time to become a world champion. And I had to do it impressively.
“The atmosphere was electric and it was mostly sold out. MSG already wants me back. We’re taking it to the big arena next.”
The boxer was confident about his chances of a swift finish to the fight.
He said: “I don’t remember exactly when his nose started bleeding but once I saw it, I knew the stoppage was coming soon.
“I hit him with a hook early and knew I was breaking him down. When the crowd started chanting the Norfolk chant, I told myself, ‘I gotta knock him out right now’.
“And when I did, it was crazy.”
