The basketball icon surpassed the milestone during the Los Angeles Lakers' win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday (04.03.25) and spoke of his pride at the achievement.
James said: "I'm not going to sugar-coat it - it's a hell of a lot of points.
"I'm super blessed to be able to put up that many points in my career in the best league in the world and against the best players in the world - it's pretty special."
The 40-year-old sports star scored 34 points during the match to take his career tally to 50,033 - which is 6,000 ahead of second-placed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - and is delighted to be making history in a sport he adores.
James said: "I've had the opportunity to play the game that I love, and I've always been true to it, so I'm going to always try to give back."
LeBron's team-mate Luka Doncic hailed the star's "amazing" achievement and suggested that he could even go on to reach 70,000 points.
The Slovenian player said: "It's amazing. Watching him do this stuff at this age, it's just unbelievable. Like, 50K points, I can't even explain how insane that is. He might get to 70K, you never know."
Meanwhile, James has revealed that a "love for the process" has enabled him to continue performing at a high level during 22 seasons in the NBA.
He said: "Just not falling out of love with the process. Continuing to fall in love with the process, that's the hardest thing, every single year. You know it's going to be a long season, it's 82 games, 41 of them are on the road. It's a lot of travel. And as you get older, it affects you even differently. If you have a family, it affects you even differently. So, the process. Trying not to fall out of love with the process is the hardest thing."
