Alisson hails performance of his life as Liverpool snatch win over PSG

Alisson thinks he put in the performance of his life for Liverpool against PSG.

The Reds goalkeeper produced a remarkable display to thwart the French giants as the Premier League leaders recorded a 1-0 win in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday (05.03.25) and considers it to be the finest match of his career.

Quizzed on if the display was his best of the season, Alisson told TNT Sports: "Yeah, probably of my life I think... The manager was telling us how hard it would be to play against PSG, how good they are with the ball. We have to be ready to suffer. So when you see the clips as well from the opponent to know what is coming, so much quality on their side. But we as well, we work hard."

The Brazilian stopper made nine saves amid a PSG onslaught but praised the work of his team-mates as Harvey Elliott's late goal earned Liverpool a smash and grab win.

Alisson said: "All the effort the team puts in and at the end, like Harvey coming in and scoring the goal, it's unbelievable. A great story for us, A great night."

Reds boss Arne Slot felt that the display demonstrated why the keeper is the "best in the world" in his position.

The coach said: "I don't think I've worked with a goalkeeper who has played at this level, which is normal [because] he is the best in the world.

"I've had some very good players as a manager, but I've never had the best goalkeeper in the world, and that I think he is. He showed that today."
