Andy Robertson urges Liverpool to improve in PSG second leg

Andy Robertson has warned Liverpool to be ready for a tough test against "exceptional" PSG in the Champions League.

The Reds earned a fortunate 1-0 win away from home in last week's first leg of the last 16 tie but the full-back has warned that they can't count on heroics from goalkeeper Alisson this time around.

Robertson said: "It's going to be a tough game. They showed how good they can be, an exceptional team – probably the best we have played this season. We will have to play better as we can't rely on Alisson playing the game of his life every game."

The Scotland international says that Liverpool will need to take a more attack-minded approach to Tuesday's (11.03.25) second leg after withstanding waves of pressure from the French giants last week.

Robertson said: "Since they've had the big investment it is clear their aim is to win the Champions League so all that was factored in. But we can play a lot better, we know that.

"I thought they played really well but I thought the defence and goalie stood up when they had to and kept a clean sheet, which not many teams do in that stadium. We need to play better, there is no denying that. We have to be more front-footed."

Liverpool had to come from behind to beat Southampton 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday (08.03.25) and the defender felt that his team had a tougher match than their European opponents.

He said: "The league is more competitive than the French league – that's no disrespect to the French league. We have to keep going, there is no easy game in the Premier League. That's two games now we have struggled against Southampton who are bottom of the league."
