The 41-year-old boxer insisted he feels “great” and wants to carry on fighting, though he admitted he is unsure how long he will be able to keep going for.
He told Boxing News magazine: “I feel like I have a couple more years. I take care of my body. I feel great.
“Maybe I needed a little break, I don’t know. But other than not fighting, I’ve been sparring. Yesterday I sparred 10 rounds and I felt amazing.
“But yeah, obviously I’m at the end of my career.
“But if it’s one year, two years, three years, I don’t know. We’ll see.”
The WBC cruiserweight champion thinks his diet and exercise regime have contributed to him having a lengthy and successful career.
He said: “I eat healthily and stay away from all the bad stuff. Processed food. I don’t drink alcohol but some fighters do.
“I just do a little bit of everything. I do some running, I do boxing, I do strength and conditioning, so I always do something.
“And, as I said, it’s a lifestyle. Can’t just train for a training camp and then that’s it.
“But also you got to find a balance. You can’t overtrain either and it’s not good to spar too much either.
“You’ve got to see what works best for you.”
