The Brighton goalkeeper enjoys crafting in her spare time and she’s even made clothes for some of the other plays, but admitted she’s had to set up a “waiting list” for her creations.

She told Match magazine: “I like knitting and sewing.

“I learned to sew in lockdown, and then tried knitting one day.

“I’ll make anything really. I made a few jumpers.

“Actually, there’s a couple now done for my teammates, but it takes a while so they’re on a waiting list.”

Meanwhile, Sophie is optimistic for Brighton to have a better season this year than last after they ended the 2023/24 campaign in ninth place in the WSL.

She said: “I’m happy overall with how we did but I think we’d like to have finished higher.

“There’s definitely games where we should have got points or won the game, especially against teams in and around us in the table.

“I think we just want to win as many games as possible [this season]. Obviously, we want to finish higher than we did last year.

“We want to score more goals, get more clean sheets, just building on last year.

“It’s looking positive so far!”
