The 64-year-old broadcaster’s former club are currently languishing in 19th place in the Premier League and Gary - who is bowing out of the show at the end of the season - doesn’t think their fortunes are going to change in the coming weeks.
He told FourFourTwo magazine: “I’ve got a feeling that my last words will be ‘Leicester go down’… I don’t give us much chance at the moment.
“We can’t score and we can’t defend, so it’s not the best combination.”
Gary supported Leicester a child but his interest in the side faded somewhat when he moved on at the age of 24, but in recent years, his passion for the Foxes has reignited.
He said: “Leicester is my club. It’s weird when you’re a footballer – I’d supported Leicester when I was a kid, then played in the first team and scored lots of goals, but when you leave, your allegiance instantly switches to the club you’re at.
“At Everton, suddenly you want to beat Liverpool more than anything else, even though you’ve not grown up with it – it’s like an infectious thing, you get it automatically.
“I’m not saying I don’t care about Leicester’s results anymore – I did, but it wasn’t the same.
“When I finished playing though, gradually the affection for Leicester returned more and more.
“As I get older, it seems to matter even more now.”
