The Manchester United forward was delighted when her “best friend” moved to join her at the WSL club last September because she knows they will always support one another.

She told Match magazine: “I was just so happy when she signed for Man United. I was buzzing.

“It makes such a difference having your best friend here. We’ve made so many memories together but we’ve also got each other’s back through anything, so it’s really nice.”

And away from the pitch, Grace and Celin like coming up with ideas for TikTok posts.

Grace said: “We’ve got ideas! Celin’s head is the notebook. She comes to me, ‘What about this one?’ Yeah, OK, let’s do it!’ ”

Grace also praised senior players Ella Toone and Leah Galton for their mentorship.

She said: “I’d probably say Ella Toone is really good at that because she relates to me, and I’d also say Leah Galton.

“She’s one of the kindest people and she’s so experienced.

“I love the way she just puts herself first and knows what’s right for her.

“She made me feel so comfortable coming back.”

And Grace doesn’t think the club could ask for a better captain than Maya Le Tissier.

She said: “She’s a leader on and off the pitch.

“Ever since she’s come into United, she has been unbelievable. She leads by example.

“I was so happy for her because we’ve grown up at similar age groups.

“We were both at Old Trafford when we signed that year. It’s really nice to see her flourish.”
