The Reds captain is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season but has provided a positive update on his future at the club - although he stopped short of stating that he will be staying with the Premier League leaders.
Van Dijk said: "There is progress, yeah."
Quizzed on if he would still be at the club next season, the Dutch defender added: "I don't know, we'll see. Listen, these are internal discussions and we'll see.
"I love the club, I love the fans and they were there for us again and we wanted to reward them. But I want them to be there Sunday (13.04.25) again [against West Ham] and make the stadium an amazing venue like always for us."
Liverpool suffered only their second Premier League defeat of the season as they lost 3-2 to Fulham on Sunday (06.04.25) but Van Dijk is confident that the team can recover from the setback.
He said: "We will be training quite a lot and we are in a very good position but games like this, especially in the first half, show the job is not done and I've been saying it every week.
"That's definitely the mentality in our group that the job [of winning the league] is not done and now we just have to recover from this, physically and mentally, and put our minds on West Ham at home."
Reds manager Arne Slot stressed that his team hadn't been complacent as they missed the chance to move a step closer to the title.
He said: "There is no reason for us to be complacent because we are not number one at the moment because we win every game by a margin of three or four goals.
"Everyone that has seen our games, it takes so much effort, so much hard work to win games of football combined with quality of cause."
