Chris Eubank Jr 'didn't break jaw' in Connor Benn fight

Chris Eubank Jr's promoter has dismissed rumours suggesting the boxer suffered a broken jaw during his bout with Connor Benn.

The pair squared up for a 12-round middleweight fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday (26.04.25) night with Eubank Jr emerging victorious but he was taken to hospital after the event and his rival later sparked rumours Eubank Jr had suffered a nasty facial injury.

However, Eubank Jr's promoter Ben Shalom is adamant the story of a broken jaw is not true. According to the BBC, he said: "There is no truth to the rumours regarding a broken jaw. I'm pleased to confirm that Chris is doing well and currently resting."

Shalom went on to insist the hospital dash was just for "precautionary checks to monitor his vitals and ensure everything is in order," adding: "They take these measures very seriously, given everything they have experienced in the past."

Speaking after the fight Benn fuelled rumours about Eubank Jr's condition, saying: "I wish him well. I know he’s gone to hospital. I’ve heard he’s got a broken jaw, so I wish him a speedy recovery."

Promoter Eddie Hearn has since insisted they need to think very carefully before scheduling a rematch.

According to the Guardian, Eddie said: "The public, His Excellency, everybody’s going to want the rematch ...

"For me the terms were spot-on. You saw a very evenly matched fight where a big 160-pounder rehydrated OK. Conor weighed 165lb in the ring. Eubank was probably 176, 177lb in the ring. We got it absolutely right.

"But the danger was not for Eubank Jr. The danger was for Conor Benn and that’s why we’ve got to think very carefully about the rematch. It’s all very well us sitting here thinking: ‘Wow what a fight, let’s do it again.’ But those kind of fights shorten your career."
