Mohamed Salah: Liverpool title win is 100pc better than last time

Mohamed Salah thinks Liverpool's Premier League win is "100% better" than their 2020 victory.

The team sealed victory in a 5-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday (27.04.25) and the 32-year-old sportsman is thankful fans were able to celebrate with their players because their last title win came amid the COVID-19 lockdown period.

He told Sky Sports: "It is incredible to win this with our fans. This is 100% better than last time [in 2020], especially with the fans. We have a different group now so to show we can do it again is something special."

If second-placed Arsenal had lost to Crystal Palace earlier in the week, Liverpool would have claimed the title because it would be impossible for the Gunners to exceed their points score in the final four games of the season, but Salah was pleased to claim victory on Sunday.

He said: "Watching the Arsenal-Crystal Palace game, I didn't want to win it then. I wanted an experience we haven't had before."

The Egyptian praised boss Arne Slot for moving him to a different role on the pitch, leading to him having netted 28 goals and making 18 assists this term.

He said: "You can see the numbers. Now I don't have to defend much. The tactics are quite different. I said 'as long as you rest me defensively I will provide offensively', so I am glad that I did. He listened a lot and you can see the numbers."
