While the South Korean tech company is yet to officially announce the device, code for the upcoming folding phone has been spotted by leaker Tarun Vats, indicating the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is indeed on the way.
Taking to X (formally Twitter), Vats wrote: “Galaxy Z Fold 7: The first One UI test build spotted on the server today!
“Build Version: F966USQU0AYB3/F966UOYN0AYB3/F966USQU0AYB3 (sic). It may be One UI 7.0.1, as early rumors say.”
The handset, which is expected to launch due to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the summer, will reportedly be as thin as the Galaxy S24 Ultra when folded - meaning it would be 30 per cent thinner than the current Galaxy Z Fold 6.
As well as its screen, its also been claimed the device will get rid of the sharp corners seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in favor of the more rounded design seen on Samsung’s current S25 flagships.
In terms of the camera, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly use the same 50-megapixel main shooter, 12-megapixel ultrawide, 10-megapixel 3x telephoto, 10-megapixel front selfie, and 4-megapixel under-display inner selfie camera as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, though it is thought the main lens could be 200-megapixels to match the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
While no price details about the Galaxy Z Fold 7 have been revealed yet, it is hoped the device will start at the same $1,899 as the current folding device, and will come with 256GB of storage.
