Back in June, the new ride - a rethemed of Splash Mountain now based on 'The Princess and the Frog' - opened at Disney World in Florida, but visitors weren't impressed with the amount of 'dead space' indoors between the animatronic scenes.
On Monday (22.10.24), the ride opened at Disneyland in California for annual passholders, and they appear to have taken the criticism on board.
In the videos of Disneyland version surfacing online, the pacing of the ride appears quicker as the flumes pass through the indoor sections.
This means guests see characters like Tiana, Mama Odie and Louis the alligator more frequently.
Plus, some of the rooms look to be smaller, which helps avoid some of the cavernous feelings which hampered the Disney World version.
While the ride in Orlando has guests going past barren red rocks which could still be lingering from the Splash Mountain days, the California attraction has flowers and gardens outside.
On the Disneyland subreddit, a fan wrote: "The dead space problems that I’ve seen in the WDW videos doesn’t seem to be a problem here. Really impressed."
Another added: "The animatronics were great! I agree that the issue of dead space isn’t as much of a problem as it is in the WDW version."
