Universal Orlando promises 'unmatched innovation' for new theme park

Universal Orlando has promised an unrivalled "level of immersion and innovation" at its new theme park.

On May 22, Epic Universe will open its doors with five themed lands - known as portals in the park - with over 50 unique attractions.

In a press release this week, Universal said: "The new theme park will present a level of immersion and innovation that is unmatched as it unlocks the portals to five astounding worlds:

"Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter ‒ Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon ‒ Isle of Berk and Dark Universe – each filled with extraordinary adventures that go beyond guests’ wildest imagination."

Celestial Park - which will pass through the Chronos - will host relaxing gardens, a carousel, Stardust Racers, dual-launch racing coaster, and a 'wet play area'.

The area will also be guests' gateway to the other portals.

Isle of Berk - which is inspired by the 'How To Train Your Dragon' franchise - will feature a lagoon, two giant Viking statues and a village above the seas.

There will be three rides and themed restaurants, plus shops where guests can adopt their own dragon.

The Dark Universe is set in the 'shadowy village' of Darkmoor, home to iconic movie monsters like Frankstenstein and Dracula.

In the press release, Universal added: "The icon of this ominous world is Frankenstein Manor, where guests will venture deep into its catacombs and face a horde of enraged monsters on Universal Orlando’s most chilling attraction ever ‒ Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment."

For Super Nintendo World, guests will enter a colourful video game-like land through a green pipe.

As well as famous sites from the iconic studio, there will also be an interactive Power-Up Band which allows you to collect digital coins and other surprises.

Finally, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter's Ministry of Magic land starts guests in a Muggle Parisian back before entering 1920s-era Place Cachee.

The hidden - and magical - shopping district in wizarding Paris includes a full-scale theatre experience, restaurants, and a journey to the British Ministry of Magic.

There, guests can go on the 'Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry' ride, which includes Dolores Umbridge's trial.
